Spring Wellness Issue

I’m sure I’m not the only one to feel that all the recent winter rain has left me refreshed and rejuvenated. The cool air, the green grass and the cozy days have offered a welcome respite from the seemingly endless summer that has lingered like an overstaying guest for these past couple years.

The drought may not be over, but the creeks are flowing and the trees look satiated for now—and so am I.

Perhaps that’s why spring cleaning is inspired this time of year. Following nature’s lead, and similarly refreshed in spirit, we feel the urge to tidy our surroundings, plant gardens and shed new light on those things that have become dusty or mundane. For this reason, we bring you our Spring Wellness issue. It highlights ways that we can “spring clean” our bodies with healthier eating and informed drinking. We have included some of our favorite healthful (and tasty!) recipes and showcased ideas for ways to raise our children to have an appreciation for those foods that nourish the body and soul.

We hope the following pages will inspire you to refresh your daily lives, breathe in the spring air and, of course, enjoy some good meals with friends and family.
